El Museo Reina Sofía ha reorganizado su colección permanente con la voluntad de ofrecer narrativas y experiencias que, sin pretenderse exhaustivas ni categóricas, nos hablen del momento presente mediante el estudio crítico del pasado común. Esta reordenación surge con el propósito de favorecer y animar a la reflexión colectiva y el diálogo, y de servir de herramienta para encarar los desafíos complejos que nos atañen.

Lo que prima en esta nueva presentación no es la sucesión cronológica de los acontecimientos y obras, sino las relaciones y genealogías que desde el presente podemos tejer y desvelar. La Colección del Museo Reina Sofía se reformula para responder al momento actual, a sus malestares, retos y esperanzas.

Encuadrada en uno de los ocho episodios en que la colección se ha revisado, se ha dedicado un lugar a algunas publicaciones que ejercieron una notable influencia en su momento. PhotoVision, en los años ochenta, es una de ellas. Es una satisfacción para quienes, con mayor o menor intensidad -mi labor allí fue simplemente la ayudar en la producción de la revista-, estuvimos involucrados en aquel proyecto.

The Museo Reina Sofía has reorganized its permanent collection with the aim of offering narratives and experiences that speak to the present moment through a critical study of our common past, albeit without claiming to be comprehensive or categorical. This reorganization is, therefore, intended to favor and encourage collective reflection and dialogue, and serve as a tool for tackling the complex challenges we face.

What takes precedence in this new arrangement of the collection is not the chronological order of events and works, but the relationships and genealogies that we can peel back or trace from our standpoint in the present. The Museo Reina Sofía Collection has been rearranged to respond to the present moment, in all its discomforts, challenges, and hopes.

Framed in one of the eight episodes in which the collection has been reviewed, a place has been dedicated to some publications that exerted a notable influence at the time. PhotoVision, in the eighties, is one of them. It is a satisfaction for those of us who, with more or less intensity -my work there was simply to help in the production of the magazine-, were involved in that project.
