CURSO DE FOTOGRAFÍA PARA ARQUITECTOS / PHOTOGRAPHIC COURSE FOR ARCHITECTS

A partir del inicio del siglo XX, fotografía y arquitectura pondrán de manifiesto su mutua necesidad. Para el fotógrafo, la presencia casi continua de “lo arquitectónico” en sus imágenes resultará insoslayable y no podrá desentenderse de ella. Para el arquitecto, el trabajo con la imagen está en la médula misma de su quehacer, hasta el punto de que esa imagen parece aspirar en ocasiones a sustituir a la obra. Una y otra disciplinas comparten muchas cosas (luz, materiales-texturas, perspectiva, representación, etc.)

Este curso quiere revisar, desde una perspectiva práctica, la naturaleza de esa relación entre las dos disciplinas, pero partiendo siempre de la posición del fotógrafo, y quiere hacerlo poniendo a disposición del arquitecto un conjunto de herramientas y conocimientos fotográficos que habrán de serle útiles. Y eso sin olvidar que, en buena lógica, el curso debería coincidir, en un punto intermedio, con otro que bien pudiera titularse “Arquitectura para fotógrafos”.

From the beginning of the 20th century, photography and architecture will show their mutual need. For the photographer, the almost continuous presence of «the architectural» in his images will be unavoidable and he will not be able to ignore it. For the architect, working with the image is at the very core of his work, to the point that that image sometimes seems to aspire to replace the work. Both disciplines share many things (light, materials-textures, perspective, representation, etc.)

This course wants to review, from a practical perspective, the nature of that relationship between the two disciplines, but always starting from the position of a photographer, and wants to do it by making available to the architect a set of photographic tools and knowledge that will be useful to him. And this without forgetting that, in a good logic, the course should coincide, at an intermediate point, with another that could well be titled “Architecture for photographers”.
