The group exhibition “Fragments of the Visible” aims to capture the relationship between the observer and the observed. In other words, one does not take photographs to show where one has been, but to convey how one was there. Drawn from the collections of the Museum of Navarre, the photographs share a common attitude: that of an attentive, silent gaze that pauses. What unfolds is a slow process. These are photographs without horizons—or virtually without them—devoid of sweeping vistas or grandiose settings.
Proximity transforms perception. These photographs offer a different experience: the fragment is no longer merely a part of the landscape; it is another possible landscape. They are images that invite stillness from the viewer—images that ask us to suspend the search for meaning for a moment and simply inhabit them. (Reflections by the exhibition’s curator, Elena Moreno, drawn from the exhibition brochure).
