PREMIO PRINCIPE DE VIANA DE LA CULTURA 2020 / PRINCE OF VIANA PRIZE FOR CULTURE 2020

El pasado día 17 de julio, a propuesta del Ateneo Navarro, me fue concedido el Premio Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura 2020, máxima distinción en materia cultural de la Comunidad Foral de Navarra. Es la primera ocasión en que el premio es concedido a un fotógrafo. No está tan lejos, después de todo, el día en que ni siquiera me hubiese atrevido a pensar en una distinción como esta que, al mismo tiempo que me produce una enorme satisfacción también me hace ser consciente del grado de responsabilidad que representa, conmigo mismo, con mi comunidad y con la propia fotografía.

Ante la imposibilidad de agradecer personalmente las numerosas felicitaciones y apoyos recibidos, me gustaría que estas líneas sirvieran como sincera expresión de ese agradecimiento. Sin esos apoyos y sin el afecto de tantas personas, este premio, que quiero compartir con todas ellas, no habría sido posible. Muchas gracias.

On July 17, at the proposal of the Ateneo Navarro, I was awarded the Prince of Viana Prize for Culture 2020, which constitutes the highest award in cultural material of the Foral Community of Navarre. It is not so far away, after all, the day when it would not even occur to me to think about a distinction like this, while giving me enormous satisfaction, also makes me aware of the degree of responsibility it represents, with myself, with my community and with photography itself.

Given the impossibility of personally thanking the numerous support received, I would like these lines to serve as a sincere expression of that gratitude. Without those support and without the affection of so many people, this award, which I want to share with all of them, would not have been possible. Thank you very much.
