FOTOGRAFÍAS DE LA EXPOSICIÓN «SÉPTIMO CIELO» / PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE SERIES «SEVENTH HEAVEN»

En este «Séptimo cielo» no hay espacios fugaces, como en aquellos de 1987, ni tienen ese carácter proscrito al que con tanta precisión se refirió Miguel Sánchez-Ostiz. La mirada busca ahora en lo cercano -no en lo cotidiano- y se apoya en el color. Los adjetivos efímeros casi han desaparecido de la serie que ahora vemos. Y sin embargo, hay inquietud y movimiento.

A partir del reconocimiento, casi primitivo, de que estamos en el lugar adecuado, surge un sentido, el profundo, de estas fotografías. Un «estar» que trasciende lo físico: el sujeto que mira se encuentra en el mundo mucho más que en el paisaje. Lo particular es aquí signo inequívoco del todo. In this «Seventh Heaven» there are no fleeting spaces, as in those of 1987, nor do they have that proscribed character to which Miguel Sánchez-Ostiz referred so precisely. The gaze now looks at what is close -not in the quotidien- and leans on color. The ephemeral adjectives have almost disappeared from the series that we now see. Nevertheless there is restlessness and movement.

From the almost primitive recognition that we are in the right place, a deep meaning emerges from these photographs. A «being» that transcends the merely physical: the looking subject is in the world much more than in the landscape. The particular is here an unequivocal sign of the whole.
