La serie trata de desarrollar la noción de “conciencia del lugar”, de nuevo en espacios periurbanos. Son imágenes a menudo capturadas en tiempos largos, en lugares aparentemente inexpresivos. Territorios anónimos que pueden estar en cualquier ciudad; es la voluntad del fotógrafo de encontrar en ellos valores estéticos lo que los convierte en paisajes.

La serie parte de un planteamiento personal, sin límite de tiempo en su ejecución, y se prolonga y evoluciona durante más de treinta años. A lo largo de esa evolución queda patente la intención de aunar en las imágenes temporalidad y distancia, sin renunciar a la carga melancólica asociada a un tiempo acumulado. Algunas de estas imágenes evocan recuerdos de la niñez, otras acarician sentimientos sosegados, a veces nos muestran aspectos más duros de nuestro entorno. Lugares anónimos, al fin, en los que dar cabida a una poética personal.

The series deals with the development of the notion of «place awareness», once again in urban peripheries. These images were often taken over long periods of time, in seemingly inexpressive places, anonymous terrains that can be found in any city: it is the photographer’s desire to find aesthetic value in them that makes them landscapes.

This series was a personal project with no set time limit, and grew and evolved over more than thirty years. It is evident the intent on uniting temporality and distance in these images, while preserving the weight of melancholy that comes with an accumulation of time. Some of these images evoke childhood memories; some breathe peaceful feelings, while others reveal harsher aspects of our environment. These are anonymous places which ultimately make room for a personal poetics.
