CIEN FOTOGRAFÍAS / ONE HUNDRED PHOTOGRAPHS

Un encargo siempre es un reto. En general, se te pide algo a partir de lo que alguien conoce de tu trabajo. Pero la adecuación de tu modo de trabajar al encargo es siempre relativa. Hay zonas desconocidas que proyectan incertidumbres, aspectos del trabajo que posiblemente escapan a tu control. Por eso justamente es un reto.

A la vez, son las zonas en sombra las que tienen mayor interés, constituyen una pincelada nueva en tu biografía. Abandonar la zona de confort y especular uno mismo sobre lo que puede o no puede ocurrir. No hay muchas oportunidades de este tipo: cien fotografías de Budapest para las habitaciones de un hotel, cien imágenes para un público desconocido, una audiencia que te desconoce y que está alejada de lo que puedes esperar en una sala de exposiciones.

An assignment is always a challenge. In general, you are asked for something from what someone knows about your work. But the adequacy of your way of working to the assignment is always relative. There are unknown areas that project uncertainties, aspects of the work that are possibly beyond your control. That is why it is just a challenge.

At the same time, they are those shaded areas that have the greatest interest, they constitute a new brushstroke in your biography. Leaving the comfort zone and speculating oneself about what may or may not happen. There are not many opportunities of this kind: one hundred photographs of Budapest for the rooms of a hotel, one hundred images for an unknown audience, an audience that does not know you and which is far from what you could usually expect in an exhibition hall.
