EXPOSICIÓN 1+1 / EXHIBITION 1+1

La idea de Javier Muro, coordinador de una serie de exposiciones en la Galería Mikel Armendia, era la de emparejar un autor veterano con un autor más joven (1+1 era el rótulo general de estas muestras), a partir de un vínculo, generalmente de orden creativo (aunque no siempre), que pudiera existir entre los dos. 

Este tipo de asociaciones han de ser siempre relativizadas: Carlos Cánovas no es un fotógrafo de arquitectura, pero en sus fotografías hay a menudo edificios y construcciones que de algún modo tienen que ver con lo arquitectónico y, a la vez, las imágenes de Pedro Pegenaute a veces van más allá de lo que es propiamente arquitectura, orientándose hacia interpretaciones semi-abstractas. Quizás el verdadero interés de estas exposiciones reside justamente en esas zonas difusas de divergencia o de confluencia, según se mire.

The idea of Javier Muro, coordinator of a series of exhibitions at the Mikel Armendia Gallery, was to match a veteran with a younger author (1 + 1 was the general label of these exhibitions), based on a link, generally of creative order (although not always), that could exist between the two artists.

This type of association must always be relativized: Carlos Cánovas is not an architecture photographer, but in his photographs there are often buildings and constructions that in some way have to do with architectonical interest and, at the same time, Pedro Pegenaute’s images sometimes go beyond what is properly architecture, oriented towards semi-abstract interpretations. Perhaps the true interest of these exhibitions lies precisely in those diffuse zones of divergence or confluence, depending on how you look at it.
